Today we’re celebrating Dallas, TX and San Antonio, TX, the two winners of Modis 2016 Branch of the Year. This honor is achieved by facilitating the most job placements, helping to fill available positions and finding great opportunities for qualified candidates.
We learned the ins and outs of each city from the best tour guides we knew – some of our branch reps. Get ready for wanderlust to sweep you away as you get to know Dallas and San Antonio!
According to Jeff Koc, Manging Director of Modis Dallas, Dallas is one of the better “foodie” places on the planet. Take your pick of the Mexican, barbecue, or fine steakhouses the area is known for:
- Pecan Lodge
- Kenny’s Wood Fire Grill
- Velvet Taco
- The French Room
- Pappas Bros Steakhouse
- Nick & Sam’s
Dallas has no lack of entertainment! The city is the home of the infamous Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers, whose stadiums are across the street from each other in Arlington. If other sports are more your thing, catch a Dallas Stars hockey game, see the Dallas Mavericks take the basketball court, or watch FC Dallas hit the soccer field.
Live like a local with some local gems Jeff suggests:
- The Stockyards (Fort Worth)
- Dealey Plaza
- Dallas Arboretum
- Dallas World Aquarium
- White Rock Lake
- Coffee and Cars
- Bishop Arts District
Why does he love living in Dallas? “It truly has it all,” Jeff told us. “Good weather most of the year, one of the best business climates one could ask for, plenty of things to do…” he continued to list things that made it a great place to call home.
We talked to Marcia Custodio, Business Development Manager at Modis San Antonio, to learn from the San Antonio native what made the city so special. There is no shortage of things to do in this small town with big city perks!
Marcia told us the city has some of the best Mexican and barbecue around. If you’re feeling hungry, take your pick among old and new restaurants:
With its rich history and robust entertainment, you’ll never be bored in San Antonio. Marcia is a big San Antonio Spurs fan and recommends stopping by a game to cheer on the “best team in the NBA” (her words, not ours!). For the thrill seekers, the city boasts two theme parks – SeaWorld and Six Flags Fiesta Texas. There are even more things to do in the Alamo City:
- Mission Trails
- Hill Country
- The Alamo
- The Pearl
- The Friendly Spot
- Fiesta Time in April
- First Friday Downtown
Marcia loves living in San Antonio because it’s a “community and you feel it everywhere you go.”
