Checking in with IT-Specific Stats for February 2014
As we look closer into the IT industry during the month of February, we see that roughly 2.94 million people were employed. While Information Technology was not the front-runner in growth this month – the award goes to education and health services 33,000 positions added – IT’s number is up 10,300 from January 2014.
Of these 10,300 added tech positions, 5,000 fell under computer systems design and related services, while the other 5,300 were from a significant increase management and technical consulting services. Tech jobs recently grabbed 3 of the top 10 spots on U.S. News’s The 100 Best Jobs list for their strong combination of employment opportunities, salary strength, work-life balance, and job security.
