For many of our fellow tech enthusiasts, gaming is a great outlet for blowing off steam and unwinding. To get you charged for the rest of 2016, here’s a look at 16 of our most anticipated video games coming out this year! Enjoy!

1. Firewatch

A mystery is unfolding in the remote mountaintop wilderness of rural Wyoming, and your only contact with the outside world is through a handheld radio. It’s a formula that promises an intriguing mix of narrative and exploration in this inventive indie adventure.

2. No Man’s Sky

An infinite procedurally generated universe awaits you in this ambitious first-person sci-fi adventure that blends airborne combat and space exploration with  adventures in a massive open galaxy. Watch out for rampaging galactic empires and hungry alien wildlife alike.

3. Quantum Break

The very fabric of time and space is fractured in a rapidly unraveling universe, and this cinematic third-person adventure tasks you with jumping back and forth to pick up the pieces across a dramatic story-driven campaign. Definitely one to “make time” for this year.

4. Cuphead

Hand drawn and animated in the style of 1930s-era cartoons, Cuphead is easily one of the most unique looking games of 2016. This run and gun game emphasizes boss battles and frenetic dodge and shoot action that looks as stunning as it does intense.

5. Hyper Light Drifter

The dark, organic sci-fi world and slick 8-bit/16-bit pixel-art of Hyper Light Drifter possess a mesmerizing atmosphere that we can’t wait to explore in this indie action-RPG. Ancient technologies and hidden perils await in this fascinating realm.

6. Ratchet & Clank Remastered

When a classic PlayStation fave like the original Ratchet & Clank gets dusted off and reworked with a fresh coat of paint, and we couldn’t be more thrilled. Ratchet & Clank’s addictive mix of bolt collecting mayhem and silly sci-fi platforming adventure is a must-play for Sony enthusiasts. Expect a mash-up of the old and new in this re-imagined update.

7. Fire Emblem Fates

The latest entry in Nintendo’s fan-favorite fantasy strategy game series is actually a pair of two complete games that each showcase a different side to the gripping conflict that unfolds in each. With two versions to pick from, Conquest and Birthright, promises to be absolutely epic.

8. Doom

Having grown up in the heyday of PC gaming’s first forays into first-person shooters, it’s hard not to be excited about a new Doom. The iconic gory shooter series returns this year with a fresh round of explosive demon-blasting insanity

9. Unravel

An adorable living creature made of yarn? A lush 3D world to explore? A charming blend of platforming action and innovative string-based mechanics? Unravels has all of this and more, making it a top pick for anyone less inclined towards the more guts and guns heavy offerings on this list.

10. The Last Guardian

Despite years in development, it looks like hotly-anticipated epic fantasy platformer The Last Guardian may finally see the light of day in 2016. The journey of a young boy and his giant furry beast in this sprawling storybook world looks enthralling.

11. Legend of Zelda Wii U

It’s not quite clear whether the Legend of Zelda entry will make it out on the Wii U this year or be saved for Nintendo’s next-gen console, the NX, but long-time Zelda series fans have a lot to excited for if the stars align just right. Fingers crossed!

12. The Witness

Jonathan Blow’s surprise indie hit Braid blew minds with its brain-bending puzzles. His next project has been a long time coming, but expect lots of curiosities and secrets woven throughout the colorful island world in The Witness.

13. Dark Souls III

Brutal, unforgiving, and dark as all get out, the ultra challenging Dark Souls series is ramping up to unleash another fantasy gauntlet of demon slaying and bloodthirsty survival. Do you have the fortitude and skill to see your grim quest through to completion? We’ll find out soon enough!

14. ReCore

If you can’t tell, 2016 is shaping up to be a great year for sci-fi gaming, and ReCore is another great pick if you love tales of tech. Amidst the decimated dunes of a damaged world, prepare for dangerous thrills in the robot-filled waste in this action adventure.

15. Tom Clancy’s The Division

Post-apocalyptic survival collides with rival factions battling out across a plague-ridden futurist cityscape in this slick-looking offering. We can’t wait to see The Division’s open-world shooter RPG action heat up consoles in 2016.

16. The Hitman

Iconic assassin series The Hitman is just the latest of many classic hits getting a new entry later this year, and it’s going to be a big one! Get ready for more tactical espionage, murder, and mystery next winter.
