As we approach the Thanksgiving holiday, many of us are taking time to reflect upon and appreciate the positives in our lives, from family and friends, to tech careers, to anything else that brings us happiness. It’s also a time to focus on generosity.
Known for it’s lively culture, Austin, is an innovative tech hub. Our Austin branch has a generous history of volunteering within the community, and its colleagues have been involved with Habitat for Humanity and Adecco’s Win4Youth initiatives. This community-oriented and family-centric branch believes in what they can accomplish as a team and is grateful for their success as a branch – including earning the 2013 Small Branch of the Year Award.
Modis and Mobile Loaves & Fishes
In the spirit of giving back, Modis Austin has connected with Austin-based Mobile Loaves & Fishes, a non-profit that literally has miracles on wheels. The uniquely-Austin social outreach ministry’s specialty is delivering food to the homeless via food trucks, and that’s how we’re lending a hand.
As a team, we’re sponsoring trucks financially, volunteering our time to help prepare and load trucks and conducting a truck run with the organization on Wednesday, November 12. We’ll be sharing updates throughout the afternoon and evening on our Twitter account and on Facebook.
Mobile Loaves & Fishes has a mission of providing food and clothing and promoting dignity for the homeless. The ministry began in 1998 with parishioners delivering meals out of their minivans and has since grown to 12 trucks in Austin, as well as trucks in San Antonio, Minneapolis, Providence, RI, and New Bedford, MA.
