At Modis, we’re thankful to be at the center of the IT landscape. Unfortunately, however, there are many people who are on the outside looking in.
This Thanksgiving, we’re supporting two exceptional organizations – ScriptEd and the Pragmatic Works Foundation – that are committed to breaking down barriers and giving people the tools, training and support they need to not only start their careers in the IT industry, but to flourish.
Put our money where your heart is.
We think both of these organizations are extremely valuable, but we want you to weigh in on which one you think deserves our cash donations. “Like” us on Facebook between November 18 and November 26, and cast your vote. On November 27, we’ll count up the votes and send donations to both causes, while the exact donation amounts will be determined by the number of votes each charity receives. “Like” us now and be part of the Geeksgiving giveaway!

Pragmatic Works Foundation: The Pragmatic Works Foundation helps veterans, the unemployed and the underemployed in North Florida overcome the obstacles to entering the IT industry through training and hands-on career support. The foundation also hosts a Youth Technology Camp to teach underprivileged children essential science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) skills and give them exposure to the IT field.
ScriptEd: ScriptEd is a nonprofit that works to increase access to careers in technology by offering computer-programming classes in low-income high schools. Classes are taught on a volunteer basis by professional software developers. Over the summer, ScriptEd students are linked with paid internships where they gain professional experience in coding.
