This Sunday, October 21, Modis will join Michelle Rounds and Rosie O’Donnell in the 3rd Annual Running For Answers 5k run/walk and Kids 5K held in the beautiful Japanese Gardens of Fairmount Park in Philadelphia to support the Desmoid Tumor Research Foundation (DTRF).
What, you may ask does this have to do with the Modis? Well, aside from our commitment to giving back to our local communities through events such as Running For Answers, which by the way we are very proud of, Michelle Rounds was once a member of the Modis family out of the New York office.
Michelle joined Modis in November of 1999 and quickly became one of the company’s top recruiting superstars before she left in 2007. Michelle embodied the very best of Modis. Smart, straight forward, laser sharp in her focus, Michelle built deep and lasting relationships with her candidates and worked tirelessly to find the job opportunities that would support both their career and their personal goals. Michelle was about making a difference in people’s lives and her consultants felt that sense of purpose from her every day.
So it was no surprise to learn that when Michelle was diagnosed with the rare condition of mesenteric fibromatosis, or Desmoid Tumors, earlier this year she, along with her famous spouse Rosie O’Donnell, put her energy behind making a difference for the larger community once again; raising awareness and valuable dollars towards research and community support.
So the connection is Michelle, whom we are very proud to have the opportunity to support, but it’s really about relationships. In recruitment, in fundraising, in families, in life – it’s the quality and depth of our relationships that can set the bar for fulfillment and success. It’s reaching out and getting involved, whether it’s one-on-one or through an organization. So pick what moves you, what stirs the heart, what starts your synapses firing – be the force behind some truly exceptional connections.
