Social with a Purpose

Navigating social media sometimes feels like navigating a five-lane highway. With so much information traveling from person-to-person across the world at the click of a button, I often feel overwhelmed. Determining my goals for interacting over social media is crucial to the strategies I use. Yet sometimes, the process isn’t difficult at all.  When I was asked to participate in our Win4Youth initiative for Tuesday’s Children, a purpose formed without the need for formulation.

Win4Youth is a program Modis’ parent company, Adecco, established to raise money for charities across the world. My colleagues and I bike, hike, swim, and run to further awareness and help children in troubled areas around the globe. Contributions for our event will go to Tuesday’s Children, a non-profit family services group dedicating to aiding children impacted by the tragedies of September 11, 2001, and terrorism worldwide.

Typically my goals involve being informative and making connections. In this case, it was to spread the word about charity and highlight the good deeds of my fellow colleagues.

I want to take this time to spread connections not for myself, but for Tuesday’s Children. Along with Modis and Adecco, I am proud to help those children whose lives were changed forever by the events of September 11th.
